Football ban of 10 months imposed on Sandro Tonali for betting violations

Several news outlets in Italy have reported that Sandro Tonali has been handed a 10-month football ban by the Italian FA as a result of an investigation into his betting habits.
Tonali, a midfielder for Newcastle United and the Italian national team, will miss 10 months of football and must also participate in additional rehabilitation programs for another 8 months.
A ban was imposed on Tonali by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC).
Even if Italy were to qualify for the 2024 Euros, the 23-year-old would not be able to participate because he will not be able to play until August.
Nicolò Zalewski, Nicolò Zaniolo, and Nicolò Fagioli are all Italian players who have been implicated in the same betting investigation; however, not all of them have been punished as of yet.
Fagioli, like Tonali, was banned for seven months by the FIGC earlier this month for betting infractions.
What the repercussions would be for the participants have remained hidden until this point. Will the other players face similar consequences or will they each receive unique forms of discipline?
After receiving approval from the Italian National Olympic Committee, the agreement will be forwarded to the next international stage.
"The federal prosecutor and Sandro Tonali have reached an agreement," stated Gabriele Gravina, president of the Italian Football Federation, according to Sky Sports Italia. Of the 18-month term of the plea deal, eight months are set aside for rehabilitation. During this time, the defendant will participate in therapeutic activities and be required to make sixteen public appearances.
"The rules dictate a specific amount of time spent suspended, but we have considered the plea deal, extenuating circumstances, and the extraordinary level of cooperation from the players; thus, we must adhere to the standards we have set for ourselves."
